COVERGIRL LIPPERFECTION™ JUMBO GLOSS BALM in Berry Twist 230 - Review & Swatches

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm is the perfect hybrid of a lip gloss and a lip balm! It provides an instant sheen to my lips with the added bonus of hydration. The pigmentation is quite sheer, but then again, it's a gloss balm, not a fully saturated lipstick, and I love it for the dry chilly winter mornings!

Review

Lip crayons are quite in vogue since a couple of years now and almost all leading cosmetics brands have their versions available in the market. Personally, I love the idea of these chubby lip pencils better than the regular lipstick tubes. I just find them more cute and easy to use.

I got my CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm included in a L.E package of my Olay Pro X during the summers. I put it somewhere in my drawer and then completely forgot about it, until last month. During the usual morning rush, one fine chilly November morning, I got my hands on it and tried it on and since then, I'm using it non-stop, every day, every morning! I've already flattened the top and very soon, it's prolly going to be the first ever lip product that I'll actually finish.

Unlike the Revlon Balm Stain, this version by CoverGirl is a fusion of a lip balm and lip gloss. I've tried the combination of a lipstick and gloss before but the hybrid of a balm and gloss was a fairly new thing for me. The shade of CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm, I've got is Berry Twist, which quite true to its name is a very sheer berry colour that leans slightly towards pink.

The packaging is quite traditional, this is very much your regular chubby pencil, with a twist up mechanism. The colour pay-off, is very sheer. But it hydrates my lips pretty well. I really like how it is not too moist to slick off my lips, like some of the lip balms I have used in the past, but still manages to give a nice shine with just the perfect hydration to my lips. The glossiness lasts for around an hour and a half on my lips with constant talking (I'm in a job where I don't even stop talking for a moment, trust me >_<), after that the glossiness/sheen of the gloss vanishes but I can still feel my lips soft and hydrated - courtesy of the balm part, I guess.

I didn't actually plan on including a before application picture of my lips; because I know they look horrible. But I just wanted to give you guys an idea of the performance of this product. My lips, these days are always very dry and colourless, almost like a corpse and this product adds the perfect berry hint to them, just enough to make me look like an alive person, without being too over the top.

Summing up the whole thing, I'm in love with the idea of a balm infused gloss. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this shade and maybe a couple of others. CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm comes in an array of beautiful shades.

Overall, I'll rate this product a 5/5. For me, this is a winner!

CoverGirl LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm can be ordered online via any Facebook Page that takes order from US. Here is a list of my trusted stores. Folk living abroad can purchase it from Ulta for $8.

Have you tried any gloss-cum-balm before? What do you think of the idea?

Much Love,
