Summers are officially approaching Pakistan and that calls for shopping all those things that promise a matte shine-free face. Review

My first meet-cute with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder was in a local beauty store. I was looking for a compact powder that I can just slap on my face every day while rushing to university and save sometime. The sales girl applied this pressed powder prolly in shade silky beige with a sponge on the one side of my face and I was amazed with the results. The half side of my face with the product on looked ahmazingly smooth, it definitely minimized my pores and gave an overall better appearance to my skin. For some reasons, I didn’t buy this pressed powder then and there but after a couple of weeks, I ordered one in shade transparent from just4girls.pk

The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is housed in a simple plastic pan with a weird kind of lid that doesn’t get secured on it at all. The packaging of this powder is my least favourite bit of it, you cannot carry it around in your bag for touch-ups during the day, which is absolutely required if you have oily skin.

The powder has a mild fragrance, something like vanilla, but it doesn’t linger on for long. The product has absolutely no tint whatsoever and works on almost all skin tones, but watch out if you have very dark complexion. The texture of the powder is smooth and silky, I notice absolutely no fall outs when I swirl my brush in the pan. I use it on top of my foundation to set my makeup and mattify my face. During the winters, it performs well and keep my face shine-free for even more than the claimed 5 hours but in the summers, I feel the need to blot my skin and touch-up right after two hours. My sister, who has a normal-combination skin, enjoys this powder more than me, so go for it only if you don’t have super oily skin.

Amazing points

  • Minimizes the appearnace of pores.
  • Budget friendly.
  • Available easily in Pakistan.
  • No fall-outs in the pan.
  • Truly transparent as it claims so can be used on many skin tones.

Not So Amazing Points

  • The flimsy packaging makes it harder to carry it with you for touch-ups.
  • Doesn't keep face matte in summers for more than 2 hours if you have oily skin.

Ratings: 3/5

I got my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent from just4girls.pk for 650 rupees but the prices have been revised now and I couldn't find it on just4girls.pk. Now you can get it for 750 rupees from almost all leading stores of Pakistan or order it online at Beauty Arena

  1. This was my first compact ever and I still love it the most amongst drugstore powders! A bit gutted to see the prices being revised so often now! :( Also, they should change the packaging! Everybody loves it but has the same complain and Rimmel hasn't been taking any notice at all!! xx
