Foodpanda Pakistan – Service Review

Amid the several mushrooming online food ordering services in Pakistan, Food panda is perhaps the quite popular one. They are offering their services in all major cities of Pakistan and have quite a lot of restaurants on their panel. Let’s see how my experience went with them.

Nothing beats the joy of opening the door to the bell of pizza delivery guy, right? Other than being a makeup lover, I’m a huge foodie and totally believe what Julia Child said about people like us, “People who love food are the best people.” My love for trying and tasting new sorts of flavours, delicacies, and cuisine keeps me always on hunt for new cafés or restaurants opening in my place and the days when I want to simply sit at home, relax, order me some pizza or maybe a grilled sandwich with some fresh lime – Foodpanda is my best bet to look for all food options that I can get delivered.

Ordering from Foodpanda is as simple as ABC. You’re not required to fill long registration forms, signup for newsletters or make an account. All you simply need to do is; enter the name of your city and your location and press enter. A long list of restaurants will open that would deliver food to your area. Add your favourite food item to your cart, select mode of payment and place your order.

This time around, I chose to have a little pizza party at my place. I ordered myself a large Applenine’s special pizza from their main courses, Creamer’s & Chicken Crunch pasta from their pastas and oven baked wings from their starters. Minimum order limit as mentioned on Foodpanda’s website was 500 and delivery was free of cost. Order delivery time was 45 minutes but I got my order right in 30 minutes. Everything was piping hot when delivered and came with complimentary drinks. Taste wise, I really like both varieties of pasta, I think this is something I would like ordering more often. Pizza – wasn’t really that impressive, it wasn’t bad but I’ve had better.

Prior to this experience, I ordered myself zingers and other stuff quite a lot of time from KFC via Foodpanda and always savoured my experience. The reason why I don’t order directly from KFC but via Foodpanda is, Foodpanda usually have really cool deals and offers for KFC and I like saving my bucks. While ordering from Applenine, I didn’t see any deal or stuff which is such a bummer.

Another thing I’d like to mention is the limitation of options for cities other than Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. While being in Islamabad, I chose my food from Foodpanda very easily but not that I’m in Faisalabad, my options are kind of narrowed down to just a few restaurants and fast foods. I’d love them to expand their panel and have some of my favourite bistros and dine-in places on board which don’t offer home delivery services otherwise, specially Oaklay’s Bistro! (I’m loving Oaklay’s these days!)

Overall, my experience with Foodpanda has always been amazing. It’s the perfect way to satisfy your food cravings and hunger pangs when mom isn’t cooking or you’re just too tired to go out to get something to eat.
