REVIEW

Chubby lip crayons have been in vogue for a couple of years now. From high-end to drugstore, various brands have released their versions of these twist-up chubby lip pencils in the market. From the drugstore range, so far I have only tried the ones made by Revlon, Milani, Covergirl and Beauty UK. Beauty UK Posh Pouts are basically tinted lip balms, that promises a vibrant colour and hydration for your lips. I got all this earlier from my Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Pencil, so I was all set and ready to love this version of Beauty UK already!

Beauty UK Posh Pout in No. 4 “How Nude!”

Beauty UK Posh Pouts come in six colours; Sugar Plum Fairy, Big Pinkin, Would I Lilac You, Power to the Purple, Corally Incorrect and How Nude! Out of all six, I own How Nude! Which is a pastel pinky nude shade. It looks beautiful to look at it but just doesn’t flatter my skin tone (NC 25), I tried wearing it with smokey eyes, contoured cheeks and everything but this just doesn’t cut it for me. That being said, my sister who has a comparatively lighter skin tone and pinkish undertones flaunts it like nobody’s business. So my suggestion would be getting this only if you have a lighter skin tone.

Beauty UK Posh Pout

Since this Posh Pout by Beauty UK is a tinted lip balm and promises some moisture for your lips, I wanted it to be a total maintenance free product. I mean, I exfoliate my lips every night still it clings to the dry patches of my lips and accentuates them in a very unflattering manner, I’m really thinking this has to do with the light shade, some bright shades of the range might not do that.

Beauty UK Posh Pout in No. 4 “How Nude!”

The Posh Pout in How Nude is pretty vibrant for a lip balm, you get very decent pigmentation in one single swipe. Twist-up mechanism just make it a breeze to use. I’m really considering picking up some of the bold shades from the range to try, maybe Power to Purple or Sugar Plum Fairy.

Amazing Points:
  • Twist-up mechanism, no sharpening is needed.
  • 6 beautiful shades to choose from.
  • Pretty budget friendly!
  • Good pigmentation.

Not So Amazing Points:
  • Clings to the dry patches of the lips and looks very unflattering.

Overall, I’d rate Beauty UK Posh Pout in How Nude a 2.5/5!

It’s priced £2.99 on the official website. It was available at Beauty Arena but currently is out of stock. You can ask any Facebook Based Store to order it for you.

Have you tried these Posh Pouts by Beauty UK yet? What are your thoughts about them? Do you like these chubby lip crayons?

  10. I never liked the frosty shades. They always so washed out and doesn't suit desi skin tone, most of them.
